    Important Note About Behavior Cases

Behavior modification takes time and commitment. Unlike basic training, where you might see results in a few sessions, changing deep-seated behaviors can take weeks or months of consistent work. I'll be honest with you about what to expect and will always prioritize safety - both for your dog and your family.

    Our Approach to Behavior Modification

Behavior problems don't develop overnight, and they won't be fixed overnight either. Our approach is rooted in understanding why your dog is behaving this way, not just addressing the symptoms.

We use force-free, science-based methods that focus on changing your dog's emotional response to triggers. By creating positive associations and building confidence, we help dogs feel safer and more secure - which naturally reduces problematic behaviors.

    Our Process Includes:

    • Understanding the root cause of the behavior
    • Creating a safe, structured environment
    • Gradual desensitization to triggers
    • Counter-conditioning to change emotional responses
    • Building confidence through positive experiences
    • Teaching alternative, acceptable behaviors
    • Managing the environment to prevent rehearsal
    • Supporting the whole family through the process

    What to Expect 📅

The behavior modification journey, step by step

    1

    Comprehensive Assessment

We start with a 2-hour evaluation to understand your dog's history, triggers, and the full scope of the behavior. I may ask for video recordings and will likely have questions for your vet.

    2

    Customized Plan

Based on the assessment, I create a detailed modification plan tailored to your dog and your family's lifestyle. This includes management strategies, training exercises, and realistic goals.

    3

    Weekly Sessions

We meet regularly to work through the plan together. I'll teach you the techniques and we'll practice them in controlled scenarios. Homework between sessions is essential.

    4

    Gradual Progress

Behavior change is rarely linear - there will be good days and setbacks. We track progress, adjust the plan as needed, and celebrate every improvement along the way.
